Full Board Application Submission Deadlines For Calendar Year 2023

Requests for continuing review are due 60 days in advance to ensure the study approval does not lapse.

Applications that meet the exempt or expedited criteria may be submitted at any time (please see the list of exempt & expedited criteria here).

The deadlines listed below apply only to protocol actions that must be reviewed by the full committee.

What requires review by the full committee?

  • New applications for studies that are greater than minimal risk or that do not qualify for exempt or expedited review due to the risk level, population, or study design
  • Requests for continuing review of Full Board protocols
  • Amendments to Full Board protocols
  • Amendments to protocols that include an increased risk to the participants.
  • Reportable incidents

Please use Kuali to submit all applications for review.
Applications are due by 5:00 pm on the relevant submission deadline (dates below).

Biomedical meetings are typically scheduled on the 3rd Thursday of each month, and submission deadlines are two weeks prior.

Social/Behavioral meetings are typically scheduled on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, and submission deadlines are two weeks prior.

Following the meeting, an e-mail from Kuali regarding the IRB’s determination will be sent to the PI (and all personnel listed on the protocol) within 10 working days. A Researcher may not initiate human participant involvement (including recruitment and/or records access) until formal IRB approval has been received.
