Virtual Reality at Colorado State University

Virtual reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (XR) offer significant potential in the areas of teaching, learning and research.

Johnson Hall

Our Johnson Hall Mixed Reality Lab located at Johnson Hall 120A houses virtual and augmented reality hardware available to loan or use onsite. The Mixed Reality Lab can be reserved for educational purposes by submitting an email request. Consultation and assistance with VR-related projects is also available.

VR Anatomy Lab

Colorado State University’s Health Education Outreach Center is home to a first of its kind virtual reality lab. The lab is used to teach students anatomy via the ‘Human Virtual Anatomy Project’ developed by Tod Clapp and Chad Eitel. Students can collaborate in a shared virtual environment thanks to ceiling mounted computers and 100 virtual reality headsets. 

Nancy Richardson Design Center VR Equipment

The RDC houses the first VR teaching lab on CSU’s campus. This Ideation Lab is equipped with 49 VR ready computers each with their own Samsung Odyssey VR headset.
