I wanted to introduce you to the Analytical Resources Core (ARC) at CSU—our university’s shared-use analytical instrumentation facility, designed to advance and accelerate research across campus and beyond.
The ARC is a collaborative, customer-focused team of expert scientists with deep expertise in chemical, biological, environmental, and materials science. We support researchers at every stage—from experimental design and sample prep to data analysis and interpretation—offering both full-service and self-use options.
Why this matters for sponsored programs:
- ARC provides cutting-edge technologies and expert guidance that go beyond the capabilities of individual labs, helping researchers strengthen proposals, justify budgets, and expand their analytical scope.
- In FY24 alone, ARC supported 512 users from 30 CSU departments and 54 external organizations, contributing to over $220M in sponsored research over the last four years.
- We welcome collaborators from academia, government, non-profits, and industry.
Our services are organized into three specialized Centers:
- Materials and Molecular Analysis (ARC-MMA): For chemical structure, composition, and materials characterization.
- Imaging and Surface Science (ARC-ISS): For nanoscale and atomic-level imaging, microscopy, and surface analysis.
- Bioanalysis and Omics (ARC-BIO): For complex biological sample analysis, including metabolomics, proteomics, and specialized omics workflows.
If your faculty are writing proposals that could benefit from our expertise or instrumentation, we’d love to collaborate early in the process to help strengthen the science and ensure the right resources are budgeted. Feel free to reach out ([email protected]) or direct researchers to our website (https://www.research.colostate.edu/arc/) to meet the team, explore our capabilities, and discover how ARC can help them succeed.
