ARC is launching a new structured TEM training format beginning April 1. Students interested in becoming independent operators of the JEOL 2100 TEM can now sign up directly for TEM training in iLab.
The updated format includes four foundational lectures taught by Dr. Roy Geiss, covering the basics of TEM imaging, electron diffraction, EDS, and STEM. These lectures will be recorded over the next four weeks and incorporated into required pre-training modules.
After completing the lecture series, trainees will work directly with ARC TEM staff for hands-on instruction in sample preparation, grid handling and insertion, imaging workflows, and—if desired—advanced analysis including EDS and diffraction.
This structured pathway ensures both strong theoretical foundations and practical instrument competency for independent TEM operation.
