New Thermal Analysis Capability at ARC

ARC has expanded its materials characterization capabilities with two new instruments: a PerkinElmer Pyris 9 Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) and Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA). These systems offer automated sample handling, broad temperature ranges, and advanced software for precise, quantitative thermal analysis, opening the door to a wide range of new research applications.

Unique features

  • Pyris TGA 9 Temperature Range: 15 °C to 1100 °C
  • Pyris DSC 9 Temperature Range: -90 °C to 750 °C
  • 48-slot autosamplers

What Researchers Can Now Measure

  • Glass transition temperature (Tg)
  • Melting and crystallization behavior
  • Heat capacity
  • Cure reactions
  • Thermal and oxidative stability
  • Moisture and volatile content
  • Composition of multi-component materials
  • Decomposition pathways

Who Can Benefit

These techniques support research across a broad range of fields, including:
