New multifunctional XRD coming to the ARC!!
We are pleased to announce that the ARC (with support from the OVPR) has recently purchased a new multipurpose x-ray diffractometer from Anton Paar! The new XRDynamic 500 will be installed in early 2026 and is expected to be operational by February. This instrument will come equipped with copper and molybdenum x-ray sources and various optics to perform a wide array of experiments including: grazing incidence x-ray diffraction (GIXRD) and x-ray reflectivity (XRR) for analyzing structure of thin films; small and wide angle x-ray scattering (SAXS/WAXS); in situ and in operando electrochemistry; and pair distribution function (PDF) analysis.
Additionally, the ARC has been designated a Center for Excellence by Anton Paar. This designation will provide CSU with extra support around newly acquired instruments including access to Anton Paar’s specialists, regular seminars about advanced topics, and the ability to beta test new capabilities, starting with a new Eulerian cradle for more streamlined thin film analysis.
In the spirit of introducing these new x-ray capabilities, the ARC will be hosting Anton Paar’s representatives for a seminar on the new XRDynamic 500. This Lunch and Learn event will allow the ARC’s users to understand the utility of the new instrument and provide an opportunity to speak with experts before the instrument is installed in the new year. The event will be held on December 17, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm in Yates 102/103. The event is free of charge and lunch will be provided for each person that registered for the event before end of business on 16 December. Please see the attached flyer for more details and the link to register.
