On Wednesday, July 28, 2026, the US Government (USG) released the Policy for Stopping High-Risk Life Sciences Research. This policy is pursuant to Executive Order 14292 and supersedes all previous USG policies for dual-use research of concern (DURC) and pathogens of pandemic potential (PEPP).

This new policy will require all life science research conducted at/by CSU to be reviewed for the potential to be dangerous gain-of-function (DGOF). If you receive a request from a sponsor regarding an assessment of your research for potential dangerous gain-of-function (DGOF), please do not reply directly and reach out to [email protected] instead.
