What is Research Security
Research security refers to policies, practices, and safeguards used to protect the integrity of the research enterprise. This includes protecting research data, intellectual property, and personnel from foreign interference, misuse, theft, or unauthorized access, while continuing to support open and collaborative research.
Why does Research Security matter at CSU?
As a federally funded research institution, CSU must comply with federal research security requirements to:
- Protect public investment in research
- Ensure transparency in research activities and disclosures
- Maintain eligibility for federal research funding
- Safeguard researchers, data, and intellectual property
