The Analytical Resources Core (ARC) is a shared-use analytical instrumentation facility that provides advanced technologies and expert support beyond the capabilities of individual research programs. We specialize in the chemical and structural analysis of molecules, materials and materials surfaces, including elemental and molecular analysis, materials characterization, metabolomics, proteomics, and high resolution imaging.
ARC operates in both full-service and self-use modes, and provides expert guidance in experimental design, sample preparation, data acquisition, processing, and interpretation to meet the diverse needs of our users.

Who We Serve
ARC serves a diverse clientele including CSU researchers, external academic institutions, government, non-profit organizations, and industry. With 490 users in FY25, our clientele ranges across 30 CSU departments and 47 external organizations/companies. The ARC has impacted over $280M in sponsored research programs in the last 4 years.
