ABOUT

Tricia Callahan serves as the Senior Research Education and Information Officer for sponsored programs administration at Colorado State University. Prior to joining the Office of Sponsored Programs, Tricia was the Director of Proposal Development at Miami University in Oxford, OH, where she was responsible for research development including proposal and budget development; proposal review and submission; award receipt and negotiation; and subaward preparation and oversight. Additionally, Tricia was responsible for training on sponsored programs administration for faculty and staff.

Tricia received her B.A. in Psychology from Miami University and her M.A. in Experimental Psychology from the University of Louisville where she taught as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Psychology and in the Kent School of Social Work. It was at the University of Louisville where she began her career in research administration in 1999. From there, Tricia worked in the central pre-award office at Western Kentucky University, a Predominately Undergraduate Institution (PUI). It was here Tricia learned the lifecycle of Sponsored Programs Administration and became actively involved in the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI).

Through her involvement with NCURA, Tricia has given numerous workshops and presentations on sponsored programs administration and has served in various capacities at regional, national, and international levels. In 2015, Tricia was an NCURA Global Fellow to the University of Luxembourg and was later invited by the Eurasia Foundation to serve as a participant in a Social Expertise Exchange with Russia. As part of the NCURA Peer Review Programs, Tricia has helped to shape sponsored program offices nationally.

A graduate of the NCURA Leadership Development Institute (LDI) and Executive Leadership Program (ELP), Tricia currently serves on the National Board of Directors and as a Traveling Workshop Faculty for NCURA’s Fundamentals and Global Fundamentals. She became a Certified Research Administrator (CRA) in 2015 and a certified professional trainer in 2017.
