Dr. Zac Callahan serves as the Kuali Project Manager in the Research Integrity and Compliance Review Office (RICRO) at Colorado State University. Prior to joining RICRO, Zac was an Assistant Professor of Exercise Science at Ohio Northern University (ONU) in Ada, OH and before that taught courses and conducted research in the fields of biology, kinesiology, and exercise physiology at Miami University and Western Kentucky University.

Zac’s experience in regulatory compliance spans both human and animal research, as well as the responsible conduct of research. The focus of his research, elucidating the effects of inactivity and obesity on the progression of diabetes, gave him the opportunity to work with both human and animal protocols. Additionally, he mentored undergraduate students in the conduct of responsible research as part of the Miami University REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) program funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Currently Zac is assisting RICRO in the implementation and rollout of Kuali systems for the management of Conflict of Interest (COI)/Conflict of Commitment (COC) and for other areas of regulatory compliance.
