Research Security Training
The Research Security Training Program is integral to the success of the research conducted at Colorado State University. Researchers are required to take a number of courses while conducting research.
The regular compliance and integrity courses for responsible conduct of research is typically what you would consider as required. But in addition to that training, several federal regulations require you to also take additional training for Cybersecurity.
FAR 52.204-21 Basic Safeguarding of Covered Contractor Information Systems requires you to take training to understand the 17 IT Safeguarding requirements for information systems that hold Federal Contract Information. This training is required yearly. At the completion of the training, you will be asked several questions regarding the controls in place for your research.
DFARS 252.204-7012 Safeguarding Covered Defense Infromation and Cyber Incident Reporting requires that you understand the proper handling and protection of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in non-federal systems and organizations. If you will be accessing the CSU Secure Enclave you will need to take this training. This training is required annually as long as you are doing research or have work that involves Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and you are using the Secure Enclave.
