The purpose of community engagement is the partnership of college and university knowledge and resources with those of the public and private sectors to enrich scholarship, research, and creative activity; enhance curriculum, teaching, and learning; prepare educated, engaged citizens; strengthen democratic values and civic responsibility; address critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-The Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As a land grant university, CSU is strategically positioned for applied and community-engaged research\u200b.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CSU\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.colostate.edu\/\">Office of Engagement and Extension (OEE)<\/a> actively builds partnerships to empower communities and drive positive change through collaboration and shared knowledge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a free public offering of a university system, <a href=\"https:\/\/csuspur.org\/\">CSU Spur<\/a> strives to connect urban and rural communities by bringing awareness and appreciation of the food system, water, and health to a broad audience, engaging the next generation in various careers, and creating innovation to serve rural communities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section><!-- .sticky-nav-item -->\n\n\n<section class=\"sticky-nav-item\" id=\"industry-partnerships\">\n\n    <div class=\"sticky-nav-section-heading\"><h2>Industry Partnerships<\/h2><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<p>Industry partners play a crucial role in innovation as they take research and development advancements\u2014often born at universities\u2014and bring them into everyday life. special project oversight; strategic real estate management and project development services; as well as operational management of regional, state, national, and international assets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/agsci.colostate.edu\/ag-innovation-center\/\">Ag Innovation Center<\/a> supports startups and corporations in centering the voice of Colorado&#8217;s farmers as they design next-gen technologies and business models to support agricultural infrastructure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.colostate.edu\/\">Energy Institute<\/a> bundles and delivers a suite of programs aimed at helping CSU faculty and students commercialize technologies and start companies in the cleantech space.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Remember to work with the <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.colostate.edu\/osp\/\"><em>Office of Sponsored Programs<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em><em>as you navigate university policies on IP, copyrights, and patents!<\/em><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section><!-- .sticky-nav-item -->\n\n\n<section class=\"sticky-nav-item\" id=\"entrepreneurship\">\n\n    <div class=\"sticky-nav-section-heading\"><h2>Entrepreneurship<\/h2><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/biz.colostate.edu\/centers-institutes\/entrepreneurship\">Institute for Entrepreneurship (I4E)<\/a> is a hub for innovation, taking a zero-barriers approach to entrepreneurship by offering free programming to all CSU affiliates and Colorado community members.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I4E\u2019s three-stage <a href=\"https:\/\/biz.colostate.edu\/centers-institutes\/entrepreneurship\/programs\/venture-validator?_gl=1*dpqqr*_up*MQ..*_ga*NDIyNzgzMjg1LjE3NjkxMTc1MjU.*_ga_LY8SK03H1W*czE3NjkxMTc1MjQkbzEkZzEkdDE3NjkxMTc1MjYkajU4JGwwJGgw\">Venture Development Pathway<\/a> prepares learners to bring their ideas to market successfully.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section><!-- .sticky-nav-item -->\n\n\n<section class=\"sticky-nav-item\" id=\"education-training-and-workforce-development\">\n\n    <div class=\"sticky-nav-section-heading\"><h2>Education Training and Workforce Development<\/h2><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/tilt.colostate.edu\/\">The Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT)<\/a> helps students, faculty, and staff use research-based learning and teaching methods to support academic achievement, equity, and post-graduation success for all CSU students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Within TILT, the <a href=\"https:\/\/tilt.colostate.edu\/oura\/oura-lab-at-spur\/\">Office for Undergraduate Research and Artistry (OURA)<\/a> connects undergraduate students to research and artistry opportunities, where students can participate in a mentored investigation or creative inquiry that seeks to make a scholarly or artistic contribution to knowledge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/career.colostate.edu\/\">Career Center<\/a> supports and equips CSU students and alum to discover and pursue their goals by honoring their identities and experiences, challenging systemic barriers, and intentionally engaging with campus partners and employers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Within CSU\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/graduateschool.colostate.edu\/\">Graduate School<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/graduateschool.colostate.edu\/mentoring\/\">Graduate Center for Inclusive Mentoring (GCIM)<\/a> works to improve the mentoring culture at CSU to ultimately elevate the personal and professional success of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section><!-- .sticky-nav-item -->\n\n\n<section class=\"sticky-nav-item\" id=\"international-partnerships\">\n\n    <div class=\"sticky-nav-section-heading\"><h2>International Partnerships<\/h2><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For CSU faculty engaging in teaching, learning, research, and scholarly initiatives with partners worldwide, the OVPR provides <a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.colostate.edu\/international-collaborations\/\">Resources for International Collaborations<\/a>, including best practices for disclosing international relationships and collaborative activities, guidance for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.colostate.edu\/sgr\/\">high-risk travel<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.colostate.edu\/sgr\/export-control\/\">export control<\/a> information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/international.colostate.edu\/global-engagement\/international-partnerships\/\">CSU\u2019s Office of International Programs (OIP)<\/a> supports CSU departments in developing and sustaining positive relationships with institutions around the world. OIP can assist researchers with strategic positioning: aligning goals, objectives, capabilities, student engagement, and more. OIP\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/experience.arcgis.com\/experience\/46c63e53bff54dbbae181b401003b41e\">interactive map<\/a> shows active international agreements and partnerships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section><!-- .sticky-nav-item -->\n\n\n<section class=\"sticky-nav-item\" id=\"centers-and-institutes\">\n\n    <div class=\"sticky-nav-section-heading\"><h2>Centers and Institutes<\/h2><\/div>\n\t<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n\n<p>CSU has over 150 specialized units, some that operate under departmental affiliation and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.research.colostate.edu\/centers-and-institutes\/\">Centers, Institutes, and Other Special Units (CIOSUs)<\/a> that extend beyond a single department.
