This year\u2019s submission deadline is July 25, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OVPR and CSU Writes co-host programming each Spring semester to help support development of successful CAREER proposals:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.research.colostate.edu\/rao\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2025\/12\/CAREER-Proposal-Support-Programming-2022_FINAL.pdf\">Spring Program Schedule<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:Dinaida.Lopez@colostate.edu\"><u>Dinaida Egan<\/u><\/a><\/strong>\u00a0for more information on this and other early career investigator opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Eligibility<\/summary>\n<p>Proposers must meet all of the following eligibility requirements at the time of submission:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hold a doctoral degree in a field supported by NSF<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be engaged in research in an area of science, engineering, or education supported by NSF<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold at least a 50% tenure-track (or tenure-track-equivalent) position as an assistant professor (or equivalent title)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be untenured<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have not previously received a CAREER award. (Prior or concurrent Federal support for other types of awards for<br>non-duplicative research does not preclude eligibility.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tenure-Track Equivalency \u2013 For a position to be considered a tenure-track-equivalent position, it must meet all of the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The employee has a continuing appointment that is expected to last the five years of a CAREER grant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The appointment has substantial research and educational responsibilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The proposed project relates to the<br>employee\u2019s career goals and job responsibilities as well as to the mission of the department or organization. As stated in the<br>Proposal Preparation Instructions, for non-tenure-track faculty, the Departmental Letter must affirm that the investigator\u2019s<br>appointment is at an early-career level equivalent to pre-tenure status, and the Departmental Letter must clearly and<br>convincingly demonstrate how the faculty member\u2019s appointment satisfies all the above requirements of tenure-track<br>equivalency.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty members who are Associate Professors or in equivalent appointments, with or without tenure, are not eligible for the CAREER program.
