ABOUT

Ashley Stahle serves as the Associate Director of Sponsored Programs. In this role she provides effective leadership and oversight across all operational, administrative, and pre-award functions for sponsored research. She has 13 years of experience in higher education, with 11 years of research administration directly related to sponsored awards at a major research institution.

Stahle collaborates closely with the director of post-award, as well as the controller and other central units to ensure seamless coordination of research activities, regulatory and fiscal compliance, and audit functions. Ashley also interfaces with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, research staff, deans, department heads, and federal and private sector sponsors. She is actively involved in strategic initiatives, driving enhancements in processes and communications within our University’s research administration community and beyond. In 2023, Ashley was the recipient of the NCURA Region VII Volunteer Service Award and is passionate about supporting the advancement of research and innovation.

Ashley also currently serves as a national board member for the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and has been actively involved with NCURA in various roles since 2016.

Prior to her current position, she was the Interim Director of Sponsored Programs, the Assistant Director/Director of Post-Award, and a Senior Research Administrator in OSP at CSU. Stahle worked as a department research administrator covering pre- and post-award administration in the Department of Neurology at Yale University and has over 20 years of management experience in banking and research administration. Ashley holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of New Haven as well as a Master’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. She has also earned the designation of Certified Research Administrator (CRA®) by the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) demonstrating her level of knowledge in the profession.
