CSU IACUC Protocol Application Submission Deadlines

All animal use for research, testing, or teaching under IACUC purview requires IACUC review and approval PRIOR to initiation. PIs need to submit an IACUC protocol via the online protocol system with sufficient time for the IACUC to review and approve. There are two methods of protocol review: FCR and DMR, outlined below.

  • FCR = Full Committee Review; occurs at the monthly IACUC meeting, deadlines for submission and the meeting schedule listed below.
    • If an application is submitted after the deadline, please be aware that it will not get reviewed until the next month’s meeting. If you have additional questions about this matter, please contact IACUC Administrators.
  • DMR (or DR) = Designated Member Review; occurs at any time during the month and does not wait until the IACUC meeting.
    • Protocols that include USDA Pain Category B or C procedures typically go through DMR and can be submitted at any time during the month. However, the IACUC makes the final determination as to whether DMR is appropriate.
