Multi-Factor Authentication
The factors of authentication are:
- Something you know (password or pin)
- Something you have (physical device like a fob, key, card, phone)
- Something you are (biometrics).
Multi-Factor Authentication requires two or more of these factors to log on, ensuring that if one factor is compromised, unauthorized access is still prevented.
Enabling MFA is the best way to protect your accounts and data.
The most common is setting up your phone or an authenticator app, such as Duo or Google Auth, to send a code or confirmation push when you are logging into your account. If your password gets compromised, anyone trying to log in as you would require that code or approval from your device to gain access
