Cognitive, Social and Behavioral Aging
Research within this focus traverses neuroscience, psychology, lifespan developmental science, and family studies. Whether using neuromechanics to address challenges in mobility that accompany neurodegenerative disorders, studying the genetics of Alzheimer’s disease, designing coursework to change attitudes about ageism, providing counseling services for caregivers, or capturing the experiences of older adults in the workforce—faculty involved in Cognitive, Social, and Behavioral Aging research are driving advances in our understanding of aging as both a lived experience and cognitive process.
