Christine Alvarado, Communications and Events Manager

Christine Alvarado manages community outreach and events operations for the Office of the Vice President for Research. Her background in nonprofit, small business and higher education provides enhanced communication and connection strategies. Alvarado was recognized as a rising star in the top women in healthcare awards by PR News & Access Intelligence for her effective public relations and integrated marketing campaigns. She earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction in journalism and business from CSU and demonstrates her pride and passion for the community through her work.

Patti Nash

Patti Nash, Events Coordinator

Patti Nash leads and executes events for the Office of the Vice President for Research. She creates meaningful experiences by leveraging her great enthusiasm, a positive approach and thoughtful analysis. She has more than 10 years of experience in higher education, including five years working with university advancement where she fostered relationships and supported fundraising efforts. Nash earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in creative writing from CSU.

Ande Wahl, Events Coordinator

Ande Wahl coordinates events to support the division and the executive team. She has a background working in education, nonprofit management, and television production. Her work experience includes ten years with CNN covering news stories both nationally and internationally. Wahl earned a Bachelor of Science in communication from the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville and a certificate in nonprofit administration from Metropolitan State University, Denver.

April Shelhon

April Shelhon, Internal Communications and Marketing Coordinator

April Shelhon specializes in internal communications and marketing for the division. She has a diverse background in agriculture and wildlife research and expertise in content marketing. Shelhon advanced her scientific research career in biological science and field technician positions for the USDA, BLM and NGOs, contributing to the planning, coordination and sequencing of the organizations research. Shelhon has also performed and taught diversified farm management. She also worked as a marketing horticulturist with the Botanical Interests Seed Company, as their primary content writer, outreach programs manager and data analyst. Shelhon earned a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology from CSU.

John Cline

John Cline, Digital and Social Media Coordinator

John Cline is a multimedia specialist responsible for video, photo and digital operations. His role in the Office of the Vice President for Research is focused on elevating CSU’s research enterprise through creative visual storytelling. Cline has a science communication background emphasizing exploration, sustainability and wildlife conservation media production. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sports and entertainment business and a master’s degree in exploration sciences from the University of Miami (FL).
