• There are many ways a password can be “captured” and compromised​
• Phishing​
• Shoulder-surfing​
• Keylogger​
• Extracting from memory​
• Man-in-the-Middle attack​
• Social Engineering​

 

• The danger of a password being captured is that it is seen/captured plainly and immediately useable and bypasses the protection of having a long and complex password​

 

• Multi-Factor Authentication is by far the best protection to prevent access when a password has been captured, as they will need that additional piece to authenticate​
