Our metabolomics services support targeted and untargeted analysis of all small molecules, volatile analytes, hormones, central carbon and nitrogen metabolites, natural products, and lipids (lipidomics). Services include everything from experimental design guidance, sample preparation, data acquisition, and data analysis.

  • Sample preparation.
  • Small molecule quantification.
  • Targeted metabolomics panels include phytohormone analysis, short chain fatty acids (SCFA), steroid hormones, oxylipins, and Biocrates-based metabolomics kits, among many others. Custom assays also available.
  • Untargeted metabolomics can be performed using liquid or gas chromatography.
  • Full data processing, annotation, statistical analysis, using latest software.
  • Reporting including full methods details, quality control metrics, and results.

  • Waters Xevo G2-XS Q-TOF coupled to Acquity UPLC via ESI ionization source.

Proteomics

Our Proteomics services include simple protein identification, molecular weight determination, and full untargeted quantitative proteomics experiments identifying hundreds to thousands of proteins. We have been actively honing method to support Metaproteomics (proteomes from microbiomes) as well.

Services:

  • Protein identification via digestion and LC-MS/MS
  • Comprehensive untargeted bottom-up proteomics, optionally including PTM searching, TMT labelling, etc.
  • Intact protein analysis, with mass accuracy < 100 PPM mass error
  • Targeted peptide/proteome analysis.
  • Sample preparation
  • Data-dependent MS/MS (DDA) or data-independent MS/MS (DIA)
  • Data analysis includes quality control reporting, protein/peptide identification, quantification, and annotation, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Reporting including full methods details, quality control metrics, and results.

Instruments:

  • Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Eclipse with FAIMS and Vanquish II UHPLC
  • Waters Synapt G2-Si Ion Mobility enabled Q-TOF coupled to Acquity UPLC via ESI ionization source
  • Waters Xevo G2-XS Q-TOF coupled to Acquity UPLC via ESI ionization source.

Ionomics

Ionomics approaches provide relative or absolute quantifications of the inorganic components of biological samples using ICP-MS. We operate a Perkin Elmer Nexion system to support ionomics and metals-analysis needs.

Services:

  • A full panel of elements can be acquired using the Perkin Elmer ‘TotalQuant’ approach
  • Sensitive and quantitative targeted analysis of metals including lead, arsenic, and other inorganic analyses.
  • Sample preparation using either open vessel and microwave digestion,
  • Reporting including full methods details, quality control metrics, and results.

Instruments:

  • NexION 350D mass spectrometer (PerkinElmer,) with prepFAST SC-2 (Elemental Scientific) autosampler
